What deserves our time to build?

On attention, commitments and the space between intention and action.

Lately I’ve been noticing something that’s been sitting with me. We live in a time where everyone is busy being seen. Posting. Traveling. Showing moments. But somehow… commitments are getting lighter. Conversations happen. Ideas are shared. Plans are made. And then silence. Not because people can’t do it 🤷 but because everyone is juggling too many things at once, trying to be everywhere at the same time. And the truth is, sometimes all something really needs is thirty minutes of real attention… a proper conversation… a small moment of commitment. But when our energy is spread across too many directions, we start promising more than we can actually deliver. And somewhere in that gap between intention and action, relationships quietly crack. Some people forget those moments. Some people remember them. And for some… those moments become lessons. I’m starting to realise something simple. Connecting with people is important. Building relationships is important. That’s how communities and ideas grow. But time and energy are finite. And somewhere between meeting everyone, talking to everyone, and trying to do everything… the question becomes: what actually deserves our time to build?
